HUMAN RESOURCES PLANNING AND PERFORMANCE OF HOTELS IN OWERRI, IMO STATE
Abstract
This study has examined human resources planning steps and performance of hotels in Owerri, Imo State. The study was carried out to determine the extent of effective human resource planning will add values to effectiveness of employees and organization. The researcher employed survey research design, questionnaire served as the instrument of data collection. The data collected in this study was analyzed using simple percentage and Pearson product moment correlation coefficient. It was discovered that there is significant relationship between human resources recruitment planning and customer patronage in Owerri; there is significant effect of human resources recruitment planning on customer satisfaction in Owerri; human resources training enhance customer patronage in Owerri; and there is significant impact of human resources training on customer satisfaction in Owerri. The work concludes that the achievement of hotel goals depends on planning. Based on the findings, it was recommended that there is need for recruitment of qualified employees to regularly perform their functions to enhance patronage. Furthermore, only effective staff should be employed and training to achieve satisfaction of customers.
