MANAGING SECONDARY EDUCATION IN NIGERIA FOR NATIONAL COHESION

Abstract

National cohesion has been identified as one of education's primary global goals. Without a doubt, if secondary education is to achieve national cohesion, the principals who oversee the system must possess a number of fundamental leadership and administrative abilities. Thus, the goal of this study was to examine the relationship between Nigeria's attainment of national cohesion and the efficient administration of secondary education. The concept of management was examined, and the state of Nigeria's education system—with a focus on secondary education—was examined. It achieved the idea of secondary education as well as its objectives and difficulties. Education and national cohesion were also covered in the paper, along with the idea of national cohesion and its difficulties. .. The study came to the conclusion that in order to achieve national cohesion, secondary education managers needed to pass the required administrative leadership skills exams. Based on the analysis and conclusion, the paper made several recommendations, including that Nigeria allocate 26% of the country's budget to education, that systems and policy management offer coordination and guidance to ensure an institutionalized and effective educational response to national challenges, and that curriculum, educational materials, and instructional content emphasize the development of skills, capacity building, and value clarification.
